I remember that I was discussing the merrit of a "firebellies" topic with Tim a while ago.

The two different groups involved with cynops have rather different needs.
There's the more scientifically oriented group who's trying to breed certain subspecies, they tend to know which subspecies they have and if not it's more than likely a new or not often kept subspecies.

Then there's the "I have a firebelly" group who's more interested in discussing how to keep them, what to feed them, and what kind of firebelly they have because they seem to bite eachother.

This second group would probably enjoy a firebellies topic with sub-topics along the lines of axolotls sub-topics.

What do you guys think?

Give me specific subtopics and we'll go from there.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
