Thought members might be interested that Wikipedia is currently featuring Pleurodeles waltl in the "Did You Know" section of the front page (for a few more hours still anyway):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

The article is at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iberian_Ribbed_Newt

Yes this my article, and the content and pictures are licensed liberally.

If you'd like to add more info, please hit the edit button and go for it. The article may seem long, doesn't it even say what these newts eat. You might want to think about adding your own photos to Wikipedia too.

Cheers,

Pengo.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
