Since we have a pictures of ourselves thread, I thought why not have a favorite species thread?!?!?

So here goes:
1) Aneides aeneus
2) Ambystoma annulatum
3) Hemidactylium scutatum

Only one of those have I ever actually found and that's annulatum. Hoping for a field trip this year focusing on Aneides aeneus.

Can't say. I'm an animal lover so I love everything and if I had my way I'd have them all.

I would have to say taricha granulosa, since that is primarily what I have.

Cynops pyrrhogaster (the one I'd keep if I could keep only one)

A few years ago, I would staunchly answer Taricha torosa/granulosa.

However, thanks to Dave and Jen, I am kind of sold on Neurergus strauchii and Triturus Marmoratus. Both are a good size and have rather outgoing personalities in addition to their beautiful markings.

If I could only keep one it would be Tylototriton shanjing. Otherwise I seem to be drawn to the other Tylototriton species as well as Echinotriton, Paramesotriton, Pachytriton and a few Cynops species as well. I also appreciate the beauty and diversity of all of my local SW Virginian species.

Spanish ribbed newt may not be the prettiest newt about, but what they lack in looks they make up for in personality. they're very active, both day and night.

Ambystoma jeffersonanium because it got me into this whole caudate thing, and then there's the whole bunch of plethodontids in the Smokies that are found nowhere else.

Neurergus strauchii
Neurergus kaiseri
Pseudotriton ruber
Triturus marmoratus
Ambystoma mexicanum

I only keep the last two on the list
