I found the worm under a rock. Oh well I guess I'll keep trying.

Are you poking around in your Necturus enclosure a lot and moving things about? Your mudpuppy probably just needs some time to acclimate to his surroundings without the constant stress of a huge primate messing with his stuff and flipping over his hides or what not.

Don't worry so much or you are going to burn out and your mudpuppy is going to be very stressed.

Also, could you please limit the threads on your mudpuppy? I know you are happy with him and really curious, but this could have easily been posted under the old topic. If you keep everything together it is easier for people to help you and it makes it easier for people to find the topics they want or need.

I tried to post it under my old topic but for some reason i couldn't, sorry. Heh primate.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
