Well, if it has sharp edges, it is definitely bad for axolotls, since they tend to snap up some sand with their food. I search and found that old thread. http://www.caudata.org/forum/f46-beg...moon-sand.html

I've been using the white version of this product, and I haven't noticed any large, sharp particles, but I think I will go check again after reading this thread.
