One of my female axolotls, a golden albino named Mudkip, is confusing me. She's about 18 months old but she has looked like she has been holding eggs for months now, the lower portion of her stomach is swollen and sometimes she looks so full and bloated. Recently my spotted melanoid has been leaving spermaphore all over my aquarium and they've been picked up. Just a few minutes ago I was sitting on the floor looking up at my tank and Mudkip went swimming up to the top. That's when I noticed her cloaca was parted and looked red on the inside, she just ate some worms but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. I love my axolotls and it's been an interest of mine to breed them, but Mudkip has always been a little different so I'm sort of at a loss as to what's going on with her.
