I got my Axolotl a few days ago and I noticed that his gills are started to disintegrate. He has a spot behind his gills that looks fluffy and when I woke up this morning and checked in him, his right arm is super swollen and red and has white bubbles/patches on his arm. I have no idea what it is or what exactly to do. I’ve taken him out of my main tank and put him in a 10g tank and I have him in the fridge. I’ve attached pictures to help figure out what it is

I did a salt bath just Incase it’s columnaris but I don’t want to continue doing them if he doesn’t need them. I’ve also tried googling a bunch of different thing to find anything that looks like what my little guy has and I haven’t found anything. Any help will be greatly appreciated

My temp is 72f, it NEVER goes above that
PH: 7.0
NO3: 200
NO2: 0
KH: between 80-120
GH: 180
I’m taking in a sample of water to my pet shop on Sunday and having them test it all the way so I know what everything is, the test thing I have only tells me so much

Ammonia is the main thing to test, so it's unfortunate that your test can't tell you that. I believe your nitrates are too high at 200. They're more sensitive to it than fish, and it could certainly damage their gills. I would try a 50% water changes every day for the next four days, and use a desk fan to lower the temperature a little. They heal better in colder water.

Next time you're at the store, it would be a really good idea to invest in a liquid ammonia test kit. That's definitely the first thing to check when things start to look off!

Are y’all sure it’s not an infection or fungus, the white fluffy looking stuff is spreading on him. It’s on the other side of his gills now and his swollen arm is red and it looks like it has like a fluffy slime all over the areas that has the white fluffy stuff. His back foot now has it on a couple toes ? I’m so worried he’s not going to make it ?

I’ve been doing salt baths for a couple days now. I didn’t do one today because I wasn’t sure it was a fungus. I’ll try the black tea bath and see if that helps. Thank you
