A few days ago my mom told me the reason I've been very sick lately is probably because of moisture and probably some mold in my room. I am currently treating it and keeping the room well fresh by keeping my window open at all times.
Could it be affecting my CFBN ?
Also, I noticed some soapy/oily texture on the surface in my tank.. Is this normal, and what is it/could it be?

Better circulation in your room shouldn't have an effect on your newts, unless Yu wee depending on air conditioning to keep them cool. In fact the better circulation will help keep the tank cool as well. The oily film on the surface is common with aquariums. If you make sure the surface is constantly moved, by an air pump or filter the surface will stay clear. Just remember your newts hate currents. I use an airstone bubbling right below the water surface
