A friend sent me a packet of eggs of this anostraceans and i´m trying my hand at culturing them. So far, so good.
They are proving to be quite easy, and i´ve now started a larger culture that is going great.
This are very nutritious, very rich in carotenes (particularly in canthaxantine), and a very natural food source for many aquatic caudate species.
I´m hoping to grow enough to be able to introduce them as a significant part of my newt´s diet.
Anyway, here is a picture of the result of my first attempt at culturing them (hopefully i´ll update when the ones in the new culture get to a good size).
