Hey!
I bought this API "Fungus Cure" (recommended by local pet store) after i realized my tank with my coreys and loach had a fungus in it.

Through stress and being tired, i accidentally used the same bucket to change my axolotls water that i did for the 2nd aquarium (i change the water every other day) and got my Axolotl tank the same fungus - - (but only half, since there was divider between the two axos)

Since i had the "Fungus Cure" handy i used it on the axolotl aquarium.
After 48 hours (recommended to check between doses) i see my Axos gills are almost completely gone?? Like, i can see what looks like "dust" from his gills falling off on his body and he's just very sad right now.

Is this because the fungus worked faster than i could put in the "Fungus Cure" in the tank or is it BECAUSE of the Fungus Cure that this is happening??

Please help!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
