Thesse are my five axies. I took the photo's while they were in containers, because I was cleaning the substrate in the tank. The photo quality's really bad, because I had to use my webcam. I'll get better ones soon!!!

You can't really tell, but Malcom is Leucistic, and has really cute black toe nails!!!

Tybalt is a wild type, and kind of olive.

That's Oberon, (Gold Albino) and yes, he only has one side of his gills.

Desdamona. (though you can't see her fungus spots)

And Kate. (Her floating problems seem to be better now)

awww very cute. will be cool when you take some more pictures so we can see them a lot clearly. is the lighter axie a chocolate coloured wildtype? and what happened to one side of his gills? lol.

No, the only wild type I have is Tybalt, and she's very olive. Desdamona and Kate are both black, Oberon is albino/gold and Malcom's Leucistic, but has slightly wild type looking patterning on him.
And I'm not sure what happened to Oberon's gills, he was missing them when I bought him. They're starting to re-bud though.

malcolm doesnt look like a leucistic but i think that may be because of the picture and the lighting.

glad Oberon's gill are starting to re-grow. my male had 1 of his gill branches bitten by my female and that went all floppy then it regrew.lol.

Yeah, the picture quality is really bad, because I had to use my webcam. I'm getting a new digital camera sometime within the next month, so I'll be able to show some better pics.
Malcom's colouring is a bit wierd though. He's not pure white & has slight creamy blotches like wildtype patterning. Is that still classed as Leucistic??

im not sure. i think id have to look at one of your new pics you take when you get your new camera. cant wait to see the pics!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
