Hi new to the forums. Axolotl owner from hawaii, ive had my axie prada for about a month now, little over 4 inches. Last week he was stressed not moving gills curled foward, but one day i did a weekly water change 25 percent from his 10 gallon tank. When i was done cleaning he threw up and i could see he pooped a piece of gravel. As soon as he past he was showing no signs of stress what so ever happy as day one.
Today i fed him 3 (pellets) in the morning and another 4 when i came home from work, after a few hours his gills only on his right side was curled again. So i kept my eyes one him for ahwhile and noticed the same no moving curled gills sign of stress. But shortly aftrr he pooped no gravel just normal poop, and hes back to normal swiming chasing my finger across his aquarium, no signs of stress.
My big question is am i over feeding him? Ive been feeding him some axolotl pelets from edsflymeat daily (morning and night) and some frozen mysis shrimp (once or twice a week)
Anyone had this happened before? Hes in a bare bottom 10 gallon tank hob filter no current. And here in hawaii people ive spoken with had their axolotl for 5+ years and never had heat stress mines never showed signs of heat stress eats fine at 24-26 c
