Okay, so I had to replace the cartridge in my filter like you do every month. I stupidly put the new cartridge straight in the filter without washing it, so when I put it in the tank it was dusty. My water got quite cloudy, so I've done a 20% water change but it's still a bit cloudy. Should I do another one? I don't want to upset the water balance, or my axolotl as doing too much to the water could stress him. Should I do another one tomorrow, or will the filter clear it up? Will my axolotl be OK overnight in this cloudy water? I've got out most of the big bits of dust...I just really don't know what to do! Thanks.

No worries, it's no longer cloudy...'s'all good :p lol

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
