Hello everyone I'm new here I've had my axolotls for about 8 months now they have been great!! Probably about 7 days or more they laid eggs. I've looked everything up and I've been letting the little guys grow. To me they seem like they are doing well. Some look a little deformed in there egg, maybe they are just a little behind on growing? But others seem to be growing nicely some are even starting to twitch. Let me know what you think and if you see any that need to go! Thanks everyone for your time! ALSO I purchased brine shrimp eggs with 90% hatch rate to hatch so I can feed them.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
