My axie's been nice and healthy lately...
its still eating but im noticing some white stuff on its front end... its like flesh or something.
what is it?
pH/Nitrate are all normal... temp is a bit high... 18 degrees.
im not an axie expert.. what is the normal temp?!
is my axie burnt? :S
please help.

If you can, a photo would be very helpful. Is the "white stuff" fluffy? If so it could be a fungus. 20 degrees has been said to be the highest "safest" temp to keep them at so 18 is fine. Whats your ammonium and pH level? Also what are you feeding it?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
