Hello!
I am relatively new to axolotls. I live in New Hampshire and I'm currently visiting family in Florida. I planned to purchase an axolotl from a seller in Florida. I don't think that the airline I'm flying would allow me to bring her on the plane, so my aunt said that she could ship her for me. I'm not quite sure how to go about the shipping process. I've heard that she should be shipped with an ice pack, but that's all I really know. I have a few questions.
What type of container should she be in?
Can I use regular overnight shipping as opposed to live animal shipping?
Should I fridge her before I ship her?
Is there any other information that I should know about shipping an axolotl?
If anyone could offer some insight I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
