Hi all!
My axies are roughly 2.5 inches now, and I’ve been feeding them exclusively bloodworms for the past month or so. I was doing a combination of baby brine shrimp and bloodworms before that (I got annoyed with the hatching process, and they seemed less and less interested so I bailed on the BBS).
I’ve just bought their larger tank, and will be starting to cycle it now for their eventual move in about another month (that’s probably longer than I need, but since I’m new I want to leave time for issues before they’re too big for what they’re in now). But now to the point of this: I want to start them on nightcrawlers, and have bought some from a pet store. How should I go about introducing them? They definitely need to be cut up to fairly small pieces now, and my axies don’t seem to like them. My wildtype will take a piece in and then just spit it back out. My albino just swims away. I don’t want to be cruel and just stop feeding them until they take the nightcrawler pieces out of desperation (if that can be avoided).
Other pertinent information: they usually eat twice a day. I soaked the nightcrawlers after I cut them up. I want to start changing food now so they don’t have two big changes when they move homes. They take the bloodworms just fine, so it isn’t a case of them not being hungry.
Thanks in advance!
