How long can I keep my baby newt in the fridge for? He is getting more bloated by the hour. I just don't know what to do to help him. Itlike he's started to bleed from his bottom a bit too. Is he passed help? I just want to do everything I can to give him a chance.

How come he is in the fridge? What is the situation. Is he bleeding from the bottom of his belly or the cola? If its the cola its probably him trying to pass what ever is stuck.

I'm sorry, I don't know what a cola is. He's in the fridge as he is extremely bloated and I believe constipated. He's floating belly up and not looking great. I was told putting him in the fridge would slow his metabolism so he wouldn't need to eat, which may give him time to try and pass what's blocking.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
