I received 24 axolotl eggs, one stopped developing the rest are doing great, but two,I've noticed they are wilds but they lack both lack pigment in the face, and they both are not proportioned correctly, they both have bigger than normal heads, with very tiny eyes, and are lacking length compared to the others.they are almost 3 weeks and are just growing arms where as the others are developing fingers, for some reason all of them have. Already started to eat bloodworms but these two have not.i have separated due to the fact they will be eaten. I will attach images for visual

Whats the current status of these babies?

Sadly both ended up passing away at 4 weeks old,it came as a shock since they had been doing so well, especially the second one

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
