Just wondering if frozen bloodworms would be a good food source for my CFBN? I am currently feeding them nightcrawlers from my garden, seeing how the night crawlers from the store are way to big :p. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Just make sure you thaw them out completely before feeding them to your pets.

You can always cut the nightcrawlers up, or try an alternative like live California blackworms.

Yes, I agree about the CA blackworms. There are some in the For Sale/Trade section of this forum for a special price. I ordered mine months ago and still have a decent supply left. I also recommend Dawn's (Otterwoman) white worms. The combination has worked well for my very large family of an adult pair, 30 morphs and 20 larvae of CFBNs...

I exclusively fed my adult pair frozen and thawed bloodworms until I found this site when they reproduced, so they ate the bloodworms for 11 months but seem happy for the addition of live food.

Good luck,
Dana

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
