Question What to feed hatchlings when daphnia runs out?

My silly axies decided that having several batches of Autumn/Winter babies would be a good idea

Batch one are growing well and will now thankfully eat live & frozen bloodworm.

Batch two and three have only recently hatched and all of my daphnia sources are drying up (online & local) and my own daphnia culture isn't doing much since the weather got colder.

I'd hate to lose the little chaps due to lack of food. Can any experiennced breeders recommend any alternatives for tiny baby mouths? I've seen things such as Microworms, Paramecia, Springtails & Vinegar Eels, do any of those make alternative substitutes?

Thank you for your help

Bbs is great, definitely the best. Microworms can be fed for a week or so until new food is bought [they are poor nutritionally]. You can also try the pond water method, harvesting wild microorganisms. Finely chopped blackworms can also be used.

You buy the eggs and hatch them yourself, not sure if commercial links are allowed so i will pm you my ebay supplier.

I have one batch of 12 who are now eating frozen bloodworm and have tiny back legs :)

Batch two contains around 40 hatchlings (hard to count when they zip around so fast!),I will be splitting that batch up though and giving some to a fellow axie owner to raise, I can only keep up with the appetite of so many!
