Hello,
I have a pair of t. marmoratus juveniles, and I'm having a hard time to make one of them eat.
Suddenlly, two weeks ago, one of them stopped eating.
I'm keeping them at a terrestrial simple setup with wet paper towel, a small water dish and some cork bark hide places.
Do you know if there is any harm in keeping them at a fully aquatic setup with a shallow water part?
Because other triturus species such as cristatus and karelini usually are more eager to feed when aquatic...
They are about 6-7 cm ( 2.5 in)

The one that is not eating is already getting thinner, I'm worried about it

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
