Got my first Tree Frog

I recently got my first Red Eye Tree Frog that I am naming Brian. I have him in a 12x12x18 tank right now and have been feeding him crickets and wax worms. He doesn't seem to be going crazy over them but hes eating. I was wondering if there would be any better food to feed him that is easily accessible at a pet store? He curls up during the day and is light green, but at night he turns really dark and is wide awake, although only if the lights are off. I will get getting him a friend in the future but for now he seems to be quite happy in there. He hangs out on the glass a lot and occasionally on the plants.

You have very beautiful set-up. Those are real plants, right?
I have been thinking about getting me a poison dart frog, I have a couple of Axolotls right now and was a newbie when I got then and I enjoy them, right now I am doing my research on the PDFs,

But sorry went off topic there, just wanted to let you know how beautiful I think your set up is....good luck,

Thanks a lot, and the plants are actually all fake. It's easier to maintain that way. He is very cool but I have actually not heard him make a single sound since I got him. I've seen a lot of really cool poison dart frogs too, they have some amazing patterns. He is quite large lol, and I would definitely recommend these frogs.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
