How do I set them up? I haven't so far even been able to find a page with the options to do so! :(

Any help is appreciated!

Look on the topmost green band, and click on "User CP."
Then on the left will be "Your Control Panel."
The third section down is "Settings and Options"--there you'll find "Edit Avatar" and "Edit Signature." But I believe you have to be a donor to have an avatar.

Avatars are donor only. You can have a profile picture though. This may change in the near future since we are no longer accepting new donors.

You are no longer accepting new donors? Is that just a temporary measure or a permanent one? I'm intrigued now! x

There's a thread in the announcements section about donations - have a read.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
