Hi Our new 3 month old axie is not eating. We have had him/her for a week. Is this normal while 'Pinky' adjusts to the new tank? We also are not sure if we have an albino or a leucistic because the eyes are white not black or pink. He/she also doesn't have super pink gills. hoping that is not because he/she is not well but rather the type? Or could he/she be a golden albino?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I noticed you posted this a little while ago, but it is very normal for an axie to show little interest in food while they adjust to the new tank. Are they eating now?

I can't really help with figuring out if they are leucistic or albino... sorry

Hope all is well,
Chloe

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
