I am a little late on this disscussion maybe but I would like to add that I aquired 6 adult T. kweichowensis from the same source as David and they are all healthy and gaining weight. I have treated them with nothing and had them feeding out of my hand from day one. I do agree that mass importation is wrong but just about all keepers are being hypocritical if they say they completely condone it, all animals were WC at some point.
I personally don't think Tylotriton are specialist only animals. They are as WC heavily parasited fresh imports but so are just about any animals that come in in that condition.

Hi all
Thanks John, frank, Serge and others
You're right. Most of those animals were bought by people, only interested in the beautyful animals and the fact of owning a rare animals.
I personally lost two juvenile Tylotriton within the last year, though i had to treat some real messed up Wcs,......
Those survived, but in one case, i can't the the parasites out of the lung. But to that status quo, i had to to everything, some animals didn't feed themselves for weeks,...But no, they're doing fine.
And I have to say, that I'm a little frustrated. I bred and raised Tylototriton, kept the juvies for more than a year as terrestrial juvies, and none wanted them. No, suddenly tons of interested people appear, and go consuming wcs,...that's sad.
Even really good and well-experienced amphibian vets of mine, stopped getting sick imported animals from wherever, cause it's really hard work.
That numbers, that were bought by keepers in the U.S. would be much too big for me to care for in a really good, and absolutely necessary way,....
And yes, i do have a studbook, and i'm currently working on a new paper, cause the rest was lost during a computer-breakdown...
I will list the new wc owners, and i will cancel the dead specimens that will come up during the following months,...
i try to start a breeding project with my cb-groups here, but what, if the next wave of wcs arrives?
It's good to have some people, who feel the same,...
Hope to see you in Gersfeld.Need a taxi and a car to sleep in,...
Greets,
Philipp
