Hi everyone, I'm proud to announce I'm a new axolotl dad after receiving +30 eggs from a breeder. I'm good friends with the breeder and she's taught me everything I need to know as well as making sure I had the right supplies, so I'm very confident! :D They look like they're going to be very dark melanoids. However is there any tips or advice anyone is willing to give me that they wish they would have known their first time hatching eggs? Also, is there an efficient way to make sure that these little squirts get into the right homes? Lemme know!
P.S. I'm very excited!!!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
