I honestly don't know what I would do without this site.

My axie started freaking out after I did her usual water change. I went through the checklist of posts on here about similar behavior and figured out what she needed. All seems fine now for the last hour or so.

Panic averted. :D

That sort of post makes all this work worthwhile! This site is entirely run by volunteers, the moderators, the administrators, and the great keepers that post all the wonderful information!

Axies aren't exactly common in Canada. I honestly don't even think I have a vet I could take her to in my area if something ever went seriously wrong. So I'm pretty much on my own if anything happens.

I don't think pet stores are even allowed to sell them. I'm not entirely sure.

I've become such a regular at pet smart, buying worms for her, that every time I come in, they all immediately ask me how Bops doing.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
