Another way to rear morphs?

I lost the morphs I mentioned several months ago due to bloat possibly caused by stress due to a heatwave that came through when I was away. However, one larvae was found in with the parents afterward. Needless to say I removed it and raised it up seperately. It morphed into a small morph soon after I found it. Didn't want to set up a whole new container for him/her so I put the little morph into a yogurt cup with some of the "dirt" from my redworm culture. No doubt also moved in lots of microcritters. For the first few weeks or so I fed the morph on booklice and it eventually graduated to redworm heads and redworm tails(prefer the tails as the heads like to crawl down into the dirt).

His little home. The dirt was recently replaced after it began to start looking a bit too wet.

Now at around 3.5 cm

Belly pattern(first one I've gotten looking like this).

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
