Default Rate my tank

Just got my aquarium done for 6 of my Chinese fire-bellied newts, I would love to get criticized!

Looks pretty good imo. Looks like you are using some special substrait for the plants
(the soil that is pebble sized)? Is that safe for them because if it contains some kind of fert i'm not sure if it would be safe but I could be wrong.
