basic definitions here. A labeled newt might be a nice addition.

Dorsal: Referring to the top (or back) part of the animal. This would correspond to the spinal region.

Ventral: Referring to the belly of the animal

Caudal: Referring to the tail

Lateral referrs to the side of an animal. It also is used ad a descriptor for positioning and localization. ie the lesion is on the lateral surface of the _________, or the lesion is on the ________ just lateral to the __________.

I'm hoping someone can come up with an illustration for this set of words.

Working on it.

Ask ye and ye shall recieve!

And here is an unlabeled version you folks can use for whatever else you need a picture of a generic caudate for.

Send me a pm if you need a copy of the original for whatever reason, I will e-mail you the file direct.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
