Salt content in Brine shrimps?

I've tried to skim through the Brine shrimp threads to see if anything is written about their salt content compared to freshwater crustaceans, but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know?

My understanding is brine shrimp have a very efficient ion pump to expel excess sodium and have the same salt levels as almost all other animals, between 8 and 9g/liter salt internally in extracellular fluid.

They are not good at coping with low external salt concentrations, below 5g/L.

Ok, thank you.

I guess the reason for why they don't cope with low salt concentrations in the water is a high intracellular salt concentration, or?

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
