For about two weeks, my Spanish ribbed newt perches on this fake plant with most of his body and head out of the water. He doesn't seem stressed or in any discomfort. But this is new behavior I've never seen him do before in the 1 1/2 years I've had him.
I do regular water changes and I do have him with guppies which I have to thin out on a regular basis.
I have fallen behind on the guppy patrol and am wondering if the over population could be causing him troubles. He's in a 30gal tank.
Any suggestions or advice if this is normal or not, what I should do, would be greatly appreciated. I have two autistic boys, who also love our Newt and losing him would just devastate them.
