Hello all,
My young female axolotl is getting a slight "dint" at the end of her tail and it curves in at the end. Can someone please help! I can't tell what's wrong! I think she might be going through metamorphosis but I don't know!

Thanks

folded/ kinked tail at the end is a classic sign of stress caused by a poor tank environment.

also that gravel in your tank is not a suitable substrate for a axie tank, they can swallow the gravel unintentionally during feeding and this can cause impaction of the digestive tract and death. it also looks as if the tail of your animal has been attacked by a tankmate.

review your water chemistry and tank environment, it's extremely rare for a axie to morph.
