Could this term be added to the glossary? It's not easy to find a description online so if someone could write it here it would be most helpful. Thanks!

The Wolterstorff Index (WI) is a measure of body shape, mostly used for crested newts (Triturus).

It is calculated as 100 times the length of the front leg, divided by the length of the body (between front and hind legs).

Low values indicate a slender, short-legged animal; high values a stout, long-legged animal.

As different crested newt species have different ranges of values, this index has been useful for identification.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
