I am Johnny and i recently purchased an axolotl two weeks ago. It really caught my interest and i checked out a local pet store here in Auckland, New Zealand for it. Now i own one golden albino axolotl which my partner and i named, Aristotl. We have done a little bit of research before the purchase and found out the transition from the pet store to his home had gone smoothly because of the information from caudata. Working full time and studying part time, Aristotl really helps me a lot with keeping my stress levels to a minimum. Everytime we see him takes us into this state of emotional bliss. He or she is so cute! Please check out my album for Aristotl’s photos.

Cheers,
Johnny and Chelle

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
