Introducing the world's first CB Pachytriton archospotus ("d")............

http://www.caudata.org/forum/album.php?albumid=593

Hopefully that link will work, I can't remember how to post pics here.

2 females (WC around 2005) laid fertile eggs this year. Larvae are VERY slow to absorb their yolk....much different that labiatus.

Email with any questions, I rarely have time to check this forum but wanted to share the good news.

Congratulations and well done, Erik. It's nice to be the first port of call for this news ;) thanks!

Can you post pictures how does the adult P. archospotus look like? Are you breeding more Pachytriton species?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
