Hello,

My name is Heather and l live in Melbourne, Australia,....But l am a long time axolotl owner,l have had axolotls in my life for 15 years now.... time to introduce my axolotls (currant/past) that have entered my life.

l have 3 female axolotls (think there females), l've had them for 5 months, there around a year old...Wild type, Leucistic and Golden Albino. There named after Egyptian goddess , Hathor (Wild) , Nephthys (Golden) and Isis (Leucistic)

l lost my 15 year old axolotls last year, just months apart ....my male Zeus was a Black Mel (dec. Aug) and my female Hera was a Cooper (Dc. Nov). l can say they had a great life, had wonderful personalities and so friendly. l cant forget the 2 that where in my life for such a short time Aphrodite - White Albino (who left my care 14 years ago, after only having her for a year) and Seth - Black Mel (who left my care after 4 months ago, after only having him for a month).

That's all about my axolotls and if you want to know more about me just ask

:)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
