people eat dolphins now.

Dolphins? Surely not intentionally? What kind of MONSTER would do that? That's not a defensible action.

Axies as food: I remember reading something about 10 years ago about a supposed plan by a (ahem) french person to establish a chain of outlets or such like, specialising in Axolotyl dishes in France.

Whether this was true/had some basis in fact/was an urban myth I don't know.... but this thread obviously reminded me of it. Does it ring any bells?

I would try axolotl in a heart beat if I had the chance. Although, this is coming from someone who eats squirrel.

Well... if we could find a culinary market for axolotl eggs, we'd all be rich... :p

I would think it would taste really fishy being fully aquatic and all. Anything with the head still attached does tend to be a turn off, though.... We have the "Frog Leg Festival" at home in Florida every year...tastes like chicken.

Oh I reckon you could have 'em raw like caviar or sushi, or batter and fry 'em like we do trout roe in Lousiana. Maybe sprinkled over pizza? Or floating atop, say, an onion soup?

No, no, of course I am not serious... but if anyone ever tries them, do let me know!

I think the trickiest part with an axolotl based meal is the leftovers.

"Kids, hurry up and finish dinner before it grows back!"

Does any one know that japan fish for dolphins and feed the kids with dolphins meat inside their lunch box.
Their parents will never know about it not until they have a chance to watch 'the cove'.
Feeding dolphins meat to kids = killing them, since the mercury in the dolphins meat are way too much for humans to take in.

Here is a documentary movie showing in downtown toronto about japanese fishing/ eating dolphins

AW: Axolotl on Rice

Not all of them. The individual in the upper right corner of the boat looks like a dolphin to me.
