If you are not aware of what a spray bar is they are used in frog rain chambers to make a sort of dripping rain. I would think the the flowing water would cool down the enclosure?
Would it stress out fire salamanders to be exposed to fake "rain" a few times a day everyday?
The enclosure would have a false bottom to prevent flooding/soggy substrate and the salamanders would of course have plenty of hides to escape the rain. Considering salamanders/newts are most active in the wild when it is rainy i do not really see how this would be stressful as long as only part of the enclosure would be getting rained on. But what are your opinions on this idea?
