Hello all! First post here...

My axolotl is not well, it has been like this for the past 3 weeks and no sign of change.
for the first week or so we tried salt baths and daily water changes based on what ive read in this forum but with no luck.
the only thing that happened was that the tail started folding and looking very unhealthy.
but the white stuff kept peeling off and he kept getting smaller and smaller.
next we tried some medication from a breeder - METHYLEN BLUE- and at the beggining it seemed to work but after a week it started getting way worse.
now he is really peeling and it lookes like he is in pain :(
there are no vets in my area and nobody that knows about amphibians...
he is a tough little guy please help me save him !

P.S the small container is only for the water change in the main tank + its easier to take pictures.
he only spends a few minutes in that container

Hello

Thank looks very bad indeed. Hope you used minor amounts of methyen blue as that can be quite strong if not used appropriately. Not a first choice of med for axolotls of you ask me.

Isolate into quarantine tank, make sure you lower your temperature down to 11-15C and provide good aeration. I would personally use something strong and broad spectrum that will treat for both bacterial and fungal infections( in likes of kanaplex or similar) while doing daily big daily water changes. And see how it progresses.
