Hi !

I'd like to share some photos of my Plethodon cinereus tank.

There is a couple, CB in France, in a 80 x 30 x 30 tank.
The last photo is a good illustration of the importance of a good lid.
I built the lid to be escape-proof so that even fruit flies cannot escape.

I see these wild all the time, but I've never seen them captive before. Lovely setup! I guess they're probably more popular where they aren't common.

I know people keeping them in captivity in the US. They get super tame, believe it or not.

Right, John,

A friend of mine thought I would rarely see them but, in fact, with a lot of hide places, they are not especially shy and I can see at least one (out of two) almost every evening.

This automn, I saw them breeding three times.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
