EVENING TELEGRAPH (Coventry, UK) 20 April 06 Help plea in newt survey
Volunteers are needed to help count great crested newts.
Members of Warwickshire Amphibian and Reptile Team are organising a training day for volunteers to learn to spot the creatures ahead of taking part in a great crested newt survey.
John Easton, vice-chairman of Warwickshire Amphibian and Reptile Team, said: "In order to conserve great crested newts effectively it is vital that we identify the ponds in which they breed. To do this we very much need willing volunteers to help out with survey work."
The training session takes place at Brandon Marsh Nature Centre in Brandon Lane, near Coventry, on April 30, from 3pm until 10pm.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
