I am Boxolotl. If you can't tell I like Axolotls. You will see me frequent this forum.

I have been researching Axolotls for the past year, have done 3 presentations over them, and am finally setting up a 40+ Gallon tank for 3 Axies that I am getting in late July.

I am also working on a webcomic where the main character is an axolotl. I come from the wild, wild, not so wild Texas where our weather is moodier than our mothers when they have to order Diet Pepsi instead of Diet Dr. Pepper. I have been drawing for 7 years and water-coloring for 11. I got a Lav. Mel, Mel, and a Lucy axie waiting for me.

Welcome! By the way, is the comic available in the internet?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
