Question Wanted: Japanese Firebelly newt(s)

We have a lonely male Japanese firebelly newt (cynops pyrrhogaster) who could use a female or male companion. He lives in a big, old, well-established tank--with a biome that has supported a pair of Japanese firebelly newts for at least 40 years).

We're interested in trying to encourage our male to breed (he used to tail-fan when there was an elderly female newt living with him in the tank). We're curious about whether he'd cohabit well with cynops orientalis, though pyrrhogaster (same species) would probably be best. Please write to me at ebb8 at pitt.edu if interested. We don't have experience with raising from eggs, but if that's an option please let me know and we'll read up! Thanks for responding.
