So about a month ago, I tried to purchase 2 Eastern Spotted newts from Back Water Reptiles (I know, I know, not the best choice, but I was a noob then and was unsure where else I could buy them). After much complication, they told me they didn't have any left but could give me a CFB instead. So I got one and named him Jerome. On Saturday I received my long-awaited leucistic ribbed newt from another member and named him Marshall. As I was walking into the house this afternoon, I noticed a package. At first I thought nothing of it, but upon seeing my name on it, I was interested. After I opened the box, I saw 2 ES newts inside, a boy and a girl just like I had tried to buy all these weeks ago. Now I have 4 newts. Yippee :)

That's hilarious, I bought my first newts from them as well 4 eastern spotted. I think they are the better of the online dealers, my guys are still doing fantastic and it's been over a year. Goodluck with yours!

That really is a funny story! Good luck with them :)

The newts will still be wild caught, and there are definitely threads complaining about them in the Testimonial section, I personally wouldn't buy from them anymore.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
