Hello!
I recently actually just discovered what an axolotl is, and I absolutely love them! But the downside is I am pretty clueless of how to setup a tank and everything. But then on the bright-side I found this forum and am more than willing to do my research if I can get pointed in the right direction and get some tips!

From what I've seen there are a lot of different types of axols, and some of them look so cute! But if anyone could help me learn what to setup or help explain things, and then how to find a good breeder to buy from and so on. But any help will be appreciated! Thanks for reading if you made it this far!

I didn't mean for this to somehow get posted twice! Cant figure out how to delete the original thread. Sorry!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
