So ive been breeding axolotls and I have a small bin of a few axolotls that have not been growing as fast as the others. One hasnt grown his back legs yet while all the others from the batch are about 3" now. I feed him brine shrimp at the same time as I feed the newly hatched babies I have and they are now nearly as big as him despite being over a month younger. I also have 2 2" juveniles with him that I feed half a cube of omega enriched brine shrimp to as well as some live brine shrimp babies and they rarely eat them either. They are currently in a small tupperware bin to keep them separated from the rest. Do you think they may not be eating because their in a small bin or can it be something else? I change the water each day so I know water quality is fine

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
