Hello everyone! I wanted a realistic bowl for my Axolotl, something similar to what reptiles use. Can I use reptile food bowls? If not, where do you guys get your food bowls?

I usually use reptile bowls for feeding dishes. At the moment I have an 'exo-terra' branded one which I have moved into my turtle tank (fully submerged). It used to be in my axie tank and it worked well! You can get them from any pet store with a reptile section. There isn't usually any issue with using reptile bowls, other than paint flaking off but even then it shouldn't be toxic.
In my axie tank I am now just using a slab of slate, so that's an option too :)
Hope that helps!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
