MY lil man has been very lethargic for at least 3 weeks, his skin is peeling and he is not well at all!
I've researched, and a 3 day salt water bath is recommended
could it help?

Thanks

A 3 day salt bath doesn't seem right, the very first things that need to be checked are water parameters including GH and temp as turn go from there, peeling slime coat will be a water issue.

Salt baths are only good if your axolotl has a fungal infection, but it sounds like there might be a slime coat issue. Can you post a picture of your axolotl, and provide us with your water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and temperature)?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
